I’ve been watching the Avatar logons for almost a year since we switched on player self-creation.
I’ve no idea why but it seems people like to create their own character and then decide after 5 seconds that they don’t even want to play!
Its not a real problem to delete them but I’m wondering why they have decided they don’t want to play.
It will be probably one of the below:
- They cannot see what they type because local echo is not on.
- They have not bothered to read the web site which has a nice FAQ about getting started.
- They wish to reserve ‘their’ name.
- By creating an account, they bypass all the help in limbo and so have no idea what to do!
To be honest, I’m not sure what I can do about this short of forcing them to the info centre in limbo or letting them create an account only after they have been logged on for over 10 mins or something like that.
