I’ve decided to have a go with the ‘bare metal’ hypervisor that’s free as provided by VMWare (here). I know, it sounds like something out of shadowrun or the matrix or even ghost in the shell.
In fact, it is a way of allowig multiple operating systems run on the same processor hardware. This is known as virtualisation.
So i first tried it out on my Shuttle PC (a SN27P20) but the CD bootable software did not like it one bit!
Next I tried it on my old Multimedia PC and this time it worked!
So far i’ve only installed the ‘dos games’ package to see if it all works – the next one will be Ubuntu 9.04 to see how well it performs.
